About the role
As Afimilk’s Area Sales Manager, you will bring your passion and drive to the dairy industry. You will take ownership of the North Island territory for Afimilk, building strong and successful relationships with new and current Afimilk farmers and dealers. You will:
- Hunt for new business across the North Island of New Zealand, developing quotes and closing sales with targeted farmers for Afimilk’s products.
- Working collaboratively with the NZ Sales and Business Development Manager for sales forecasting and visibility of business opportunities.
- Work on lead generation, negotiations, development and implementation of contracts and agreements for Afimilk’s farmers to get them the best result.
- Train and mentor Afimilk’s dealer organisations on the sale of Afimilk products and solutions.
- Assist Afimilk’s dealers with sales calls and closing of project sales.
- Offer input and implementation of marketing strategies to increase brand awareness for Afimilk NZ and in turn increase sales for the NZ market.
- Be the face of Afimilk, represent the business and brand at a range of industry events, conferences and trade shows.
- Utilise Afimilk’s CRM (Salesforce) software strategically for all dealer and customer interactions.
About you
As this role is completely remote and requires travel across the North Island, we are looking for a professional who can offer previous experience working from home and is comfortable to be on the road often, visiting farmers and dealers. You will need to have an office set up and be comfortable working autonomously. You will bring:
- Strong customer-first approach, putting Afimilk’s farmers first and ensuring they are looked after.
- Passion for agriculture and more specifically the dairy industry. You love what you do and know how to build relationships with a range of customers across New Zealand.
- A high level of discipline and drive. You will be able to manage your time effectively while working from home and travelling on the road.
- At least 5 years of technical sales experience within the NZ agricultural sector.
- An impressive history working within the NZ Dairy market.
- Exposure and interest in Dairy Farming Technology and technology overall. You’ll have the ability to work across a variety of applications and enjoy the nuances that come with this.
- Commercially savvy with skills to drive new business – developing and establishing business partnerships and managing channels.
- A natural ability to get farmers onside to build and maintain long-term relationships for the benefit of the farmer and Afimilk.
- The ability to take ownership and accountability for your workload, asking for help when you need it and prioritising your time effectively, thriving in a self-motivating, demanding and dynamic environment.
- Exposure to CRM system, Salesforce, or the willingness to learn this platform.
- An innovative mind, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of executing successful solutions for customers.
- Professional and ethical behaviour in your sales approach. Making sure you are getting the best outcome for your farmer and Afimilk.
- An energy and enthusiasm for the role and the right attitude to contribute to Afimilk’s collaborative and agile culture.
