Based in Motumaoho, near Morrinsville. They operate a modern fabrication and engineering workshop that includes presses, guillotine, plate rollers, and more. Everything you’d expect for the successful delivery of your project, all done by an experienced, competent, and professional team of people.
For small and large projects, working in with existing site teams or taking the lead, their services are supported by design capability and professionally prepared quotations and project documentation.
About the role
This is a newly created position taking responsibility for the workshop, the team, and production schedule. It will also provide support to the Managing Director to manage projects and client relationships and create business growth.
Key duties and responsibilities include;
Lead and manage a dedicated team, providing training and coaching along the way to create a positive workplace culture
Plan and coordinate workshop schedules and activities to meet project timelines
Monitor job progress, costs and quality against estimates, ensuring any risks or concerns are raised at the earliest opportunity
Foster strong client relationships, maintaining effective communication and delivering exceptional project outcomes
Maintain plant, equipment and a clean, organised workshop with a focus on health & safety
Undertake critical hands‑on fabrication when required, preparing technical drawings and associated documentation
Support the Managing Director in preparing job pricing and quotes
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
Trade qualifications as a Fitter/Welder with 10 years experience in fabrication and engineering, specifically within food hygiene environments
Proven workshop management or supervisory experience with the willingness to share knowledge, train and support others
Effective communication and customer relationship skills to build trust and collaboration.
Sound understanding of job costing, workflow and production planning with the ability to adjust to changing priorities
Strong problem-solving and organisational ability – preferably with proficiency in computer systems and software
A genuine desire to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and team development
Eligibility to work in NZ and a full driver license are essential
