Incorporated in 1933, Northland Rugby Union (NRU) has a vision to increase attraction, participation and relevancy in all forms of rugby.

THE POSITION
The Chief Executive will be critical to the development and delivery of NRU’s strategic objectives. With a strong understanding of high-performance sport and community rugby, this role represents a unique opportunity for an approachable, energetic, and engaging leader to create the next chapter in their story.
Reporting to and working closely with the Board Chair and stakeholders, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated, close-knit team building a sustainable future for the game, the people and the community. With a solid foundation to work from, you will future proof the financial health of the organisation with a drive for results and a higher level of performance.
THE PLAYER
To be successful;
- You will demonstrate effective leadership, inspiring diverse teams, creating a positive high performing workplace culture and promoting the values of the organisation through your actions.
- You will have proven experience in developing and implementing strategic, business and operational plans with a critical eye on risk management and a drive for results.
- Your ability to foster and maintain stakeholder relationships will be second to none, establishing new connections and partnerships along the way.
- You will demonstrate finely honed communication, diplomacy, influencing and advocacy skills, presenting a positive and professional image at all levels.
- Your financial literacy and commercial acumen will be highly regarded with an understanding of multiple revenue streams, including sponsorship and grant funding.
- Experience working in high performance or community-based sports will be a definite advantage.
