About the organisation
Te Whare Korowai Taangata o Kirikiriroa provides safe accommodation and support to homeless single adults. For 25 years, they have been steadfast, constantly adapting to meet the ever-changing demands of our society.
Working with some of the most vulnerable adults in Aotearoa, is no easy task, as guests struggle to find their place in a world that does not make sense to them. Many have medical, addiction or mental health issues, are disconnected from whaanau, are dealing with criminal justice or legal issues and are unable to navigate through the complexities of the social service system.
Te Whare Korowai offers an array of best practice care and professional support, 24/7, to help their guests on a journey towards independent living in the community once again. Taking a Te Ao Maaori approach, their kaiarahi also create connections back to whaanau and whenua for a more sustainable future.
