The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled mechanical design engineer to support our Engineering Manager, as business continues to grow. With strong design, drafting and project management capabilities, you will lead multiple design projects, working collaboratively with our sales, project engineering and production teams to ensure client products are delivered to the highest standards.
Building strong relationships with our customers will be key to your success, interpreting requirements, clarifying design parameters and providing solutions through the development of drawings, designs and project plans. In addition, you will incorporate regular feedback and communication channels to ensure timelines are met and costs stay within agreed budget.
The Person
Our ideal candidate will have
- An innovative approach to design and mechanical engineering with a proven track record, specifically in pipe and equipment.
- Proficiency in both 2D and 3D CAD systems, ideally Inventor and Tekla, to prepare accurate models and drawings, while confident in using project management and costing tools.
- Exceptional communication and relationship skills, working seamlessly between teams and clients alike in a true collaborative environment.
- Leadership capability and a proactive approach to problem solving with safety in mind.
- The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, with a high degree of analytical skill and attention to detail.
- A desire to incorporate best practice and engineering excellence, inspiring others along the way.
While a degree in Mechanical Engineering is desirable, we value experience and would welcome applications from those who have successfully transitioned through trades into design and project engineering.
If you are an experienced Design Engineer with a strong mechanical background, leadership capabilities, ready to tackle challenging projects, drive innovation, and you’re eager to grow, we want to hear from you!
