About the role
The Industry Working Group (IWG) delivered its final report proposing key recommendations to drive faster rates of genetic gain in New Zealand’s dairy herd, while providing confidence, efficiencies and productivity on-farm.
Upon the report’s release in July, DairyNZ, LIC and CRV committed to the creation of a governance group (AE GG) to ensure an open and transparent approach to the six workstreams now identified. A real game changer for the industry!
To maintain momentum on such a critical programme of work, the AE GG has made the decision to appoint an Independent Chair to work alongside their dedicated Project Manager.
As Chair, you will be instrumental in bringing together New Zealand’s leading players in the dairy genetics industry to deliver on key workstreams that will enhance the transparency, trust and efficiency of genetic gain relative to global levels of performance.

- Creating an environment of trust and collaboration, navigating the different agenda of multiple stakeholder groups towards a common goal.
- Establishing clarity of outcomes and facilitating discussions with commercial drivers in mind.
- Working behind the scenes to galvanise all parties, resolve any conflicts of interest – real or perceived – and identify solutions that will stand the test of time.
- Providing guidance, support and advice to ensure the success of the programme.
- Collaborating closely with the Project Manager to ensure activities remain on track and outcomes are delivered.
